Solemnity of the Friday in Easter Week - Rejoicing with Men Engaged in Priestly Formation

COLLECT FOR EASTER FRIDAY

Almighty ever-living God, who gave us the Paschal Mystery in the covenant you established for reconciling the human race, so dispose our minds, we pray, that what we celebrate by professing the faith we may express in deeds. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

Easter Week Visits

On Easter Sunday evening, the Franciscans of Halifax studying in Ottawa came for a festive dinner at my residence (cf. above).

This week, I joined the Bishops of Ontario for a brief retreat guided by Archbishop Allen Vigneron of Detroit.

Last evening I joined the four seminarians at St. Augustine's Seminary this year for a dinner and conversations, along with Fr. Geoffrey Kerslake, EV who serves as formaiton director.  Five other seminarians are in Ottawa this year serving as pastoral interns in parishes and one other seminarian studying at St. Philip's was home in Ottawa for an Easter Week break.

The photos taken at our meal last evening were not suitable for posting, so it is fortunate photos were taken this morning following Mass and breakfast, before Fr. Kerslake and I finished our meetings with formations staff at the seminary and hit the road for the drive home, which explains today's later-than-usual posting.
