First Saturday of the Month of July Evangelizing Programs

On Saturdays in Ordinary Time when there is no obligatory memorial, an optional memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary is allowed.

Grant, Lord God, that we, your servants, may rejoice in unfailing health of mind and body, and, through the glorious intercession of Blessed Mary ever-Virgin, may we be set free from present sorrow and come to enjoy eternal happiness. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever

This week, after celebrating Mass with parishioners on the Feast of St. Thomas, I dropped in on the participants in the training program in the "Catechesis of the Good Shepherd" that was taking place at Annunciation of Our Lord Parish (above).  The Good Shepherd catechetical process is in effect at several parish in our archdiocese: Annunciation, St. George's and St. Maurice Parish.

The next day, I was taken to lunch in the Byward Market by Father Darek Misiolek, pastor and parishioners of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish, Prospect and Shad Bay, NS, whom I had known from my time in Halifax.  They were on pilgrimage while en route to Kingston to take part in a training program of the Saint Andrew School of Evangelization. It is my hope that this program of evangelization might be introduced in Ottawa in the near future.
