Saturday of the Second Week of Advent - Gathering of the Residents of 143 St. Patrick & Associates

May the splendour of your glory dawn in our hearts, we pray, almighty God, that all shadows of the night may be scattered and we may be shown to be children of light by the advent of your Only Begotten Son. Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

ADVENT GATHERING

On Thursday evening, we held a gathering of our residents to mark the Advent season, in anticipation of Christmas and to bid farewell to two members of the household who will be leaving before Christmas: abbe Julien Dupont of the Archdiocese of Poitiers, completing his studies and teaching at St. Paul's University and Father Lawrence Raisen of the Diocese of Tyler, Texas, who has completed his licentiate in Canon Law at St. Paul's.
Abbe Julien has been sharing his experiences in Canada on his blog (http://www.juliendupont.fr/), with postings at times whimsical and at other times weighty.  Father Lawrence will return to Ottawa to do his doctorate at St. Paul's in January, residing then at St. Patrick's Basilica.
